Dr Genevieve Kelly

Dr Genevieve Kelly is a Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register for Dermatology, having completed Higher Specialist Training through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. She has special interests in adult general medical and restorative dermatology. Her scope of practice includes treatment of acne, rosacea, scarring, skin cancer and inflammatory dermatoses.

She graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2000 with an honours degree in medicine (MB BCh BAO) and obtained her MRCPI (Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland) in 2002. Prior to undertaking a career in Dermatology, Dr Kelly completed General Practice training and obtained a distinction in the Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) examination in 2007. She also obtained a Diploma in Women’s Health and a Diploma in Child Health. She practised as a GP until 2011.

Dr Kelly undertook clinical and laboratory research in the Education and Research Centre, St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, from 2012 to 2014 and obtained a Medical Doctorate (MD) in relation to her research into Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which was awarded in 2016 by University College Dublin. She was presented with the Burrows cup for her research by the Irish Association of Dermatologists in 2013 and again in 2014. She was also awarded the Bristol Cup for best poster for an original study by the British Association of Dermatologists in 2014.

Dr Kelly undertook Higher Specialist Training in Dermatology and obtained her certificate of completion of specialist training (CSCST). She worked as a Consultant Dermatologist in Tallaght University Hospital before practising in the Blackrock Clinic.
